Virgin of the Light. A Madonna and Child bathed in divine light. The Virgin in her blue mantle presents the Christ Child, the Light of the world, with both protection and offering. Her radiant serenity radiates the divine clarity she conveys. The Child Jesus, dressed in the white of the Transfiguration, is truly a child, beautiful and tender, blessing humanity in the Father's name.
Originally designed by our artistic director and painted by our iconographers in our workshop in southern Burgundy, France. The icon is then reproduced on a wood panel, hand-gilded to the leaf, and finished with enamelled varnish applied by brush. Each piece is finished by hand, so slight variations from one icon to another are part of the craft.

Each icon carries centuries of tradition. The composition, the gesture, the colours follow a long-standing language; we redraw the line and lay the gold without modernising what was meant to stay still.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners; the enamelled varnish is meant to age slowly and gain depth over years of careful handling.
